Dear U_Name_e U_Name_a,
As a valued Library Member, Bayside Council's Library Service would like to provide you with the following important information about the overdue fine amnesty, new library loans model being introduced and updating your contact details.
FINE AMNESTY
The Bayside Library overdue fines amnesty is almost over. A big thank you for the library members who have returned the items and had their outstanding fines waived. The primary focus of the amnesty is to have all overdue library resources returned. So far, we have had more than 1,500 overdue library items returned which is a fantastic effort!
The amnesty period is coming to an end. We strongly encourage any library members with overdue items to return them to any of our 7 libraries before
30 June 2021 to take advantage of having their overdue fines waived.
If you have returned all your overdue items but have outstanding overdue fines that pre-exist the overdue fine amnesty, these may be waived if you donate a nominated non-perishable item/s for the Bayside Women's Shelter. Contact one our libraries or Council's Customer Service Centre on 1300 581 299 for more information.
NEW LOANS MODEL COMMENCING 1 JULY 2021
Please note: a new loans model is being introduced from 1 July 2021 and is summarised below;
Library Members may borrow up to 30 items.
Loan period for borrowed items is 21 days.
Only one loan period extension of a further 21 days (renewal) is permitted if nobody has reserved the item/s.
No daily fines will be charged for overdue items however,
Library membership will be suspended immediately when items become overdue (i.e. day after items are due). This affects borrowing, access to online resources, computer access / printing and access to study rooms.
A $10 overdue administration fee and replacement costs for each item may be charged if library items are not returned.
UPDATING YOUR CONTACT DETAILS
In accordance with the Bayside Library Membership and Usage Policy and Guidelines, Library members contact details MUST be up to date to validate their library membership. This includes email address and mobile phone number. These details are secured in Council's library management system and enable Bayside Council Library services to contact you when your loans are becoming due or are overdue and if there are any issues with your membership. It also enables automatic extension of your loans for a further 21 days if nobody has reserved the items.
You can update your details at one of our 7 libraries or online via the library catalogue using your membership number and password at
