Dear U_Name_e U_Name_a,
Bayside Library will be implementing a fines amnesty from
1 April 2021 through to 30 June 2021. The primary focus of the Amnesty is to have all overdue library resources returned. Overdue fines associated with the items will be waived if they are returned in good condition.
The Amnesty has a two-fold benefit: borrowers can return overdue items without fines, and the library will get many resources back for others to borrow.
It is a wonderful opportunity to return resources back to our library shelves so everyone can enjoy them, particularly if you've been unable to return items borrowed pre-COVID.
Waiving outstanding historical fines for items that have already been returned will be assessed during the course of the Amnesty.
We understand it's easy to get busy in our lives and forget to return items. The Amnesty process will help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy all the collections and services available in our libraries.
All you need to do is to return your overdue library items in one of Bayside Library's return chutes at Arncliffe, Bexley North, Brighton Le Sands, Mascot, Eastgardens, Rockdale, or Sans Souci to have your fines waived.
Please note: a new model for managing overdue items will be introduced from 1 July 2021. More information about the new model will be sent out to Library members in the near future. Waiving outstanding historical fines for items that have already been returned will be assessed during the course of the Amnesty.
